The Fidelity Assessment Instrument was developed in order to operationalize the standards set forth in the Promising Practices Guidelines (PPGs). The instrument is divided into the same section sections and components as contained in the PPGs. The instrument scores how programs meet each component as set forth in the PPGs. The outcome of the FAI process is a report that scores how programs align with the PPGs and provides individualized recommendations for further training and technical assistance where gaps or shortcomings are identified.

Each focus group will include law enforcement, court system actors, corrections officers, victims, directly impacted individuals, county managers, community supervision officers, behavioral health experts, and tribal liaisons from that specific region.

For six months, CJI repeatedly met with the Governor’s office to discuss the status of the JRI effort. After discussing roundtable planning with the Governor’s office, CJI began identifying stakeholder roundtable groups as well as potential hosts and facilitators for roundtables. On September 7th, CJI delivered the first data drivers presentation to the MODERN Justice Task Force; the presentation highlighted jail admissions data. The reception was very positive. CJI then began compiling length of stay and release data and presented this information during the second data drivers presentation to the task force on October 10th. Following this presentation, CJI compiled policy option information and corresponding state examples to provide to task force members to reference as they would engage in policy option discussions.
