The Law Enforcement/First Responder Diversion and Referral Mentoring Initiative provides communities interested in starting diversion or referral programs the opportunity to learn from established or innovative programs that have shown success in meeting the treatment needs of individuals with a substance use disorder, and in some cases an overdose. Training formerly incarcerated men as mentors in our New Leadership Phase 1. This training will convince formerly incarcerated men that volunteering not only will raise self-esteem but will also give them an opportunity to show compassion for others. Request from referred from OJJDP NTTAC.
