Observed a group mentoring/mentee engagement session featuring a guest speaker from DEFY Ventures, a company that offers employment opportunities for ex-offenders. DEFY Ventures representative described the program, which helps with entrepreneurship, career and job placement, and training.  Applicants must have had a misdemeanor or felony conviction and go through a rigorous interview process.  

Met with the grantee to discuss their upcoming BJA desk review. We also discussed how the project was going.

Attended a grantee engagement meeting, discussing motivational interviewing skills training and conflict resolution. Discussed program overview and steps to achieve successful participant outcomes.
