On June 12, 2019, the learning community’s fourth session on "Data Collection and Analysis" was held. This session featured the National Police Foundation (NPF) who helped grantees understand the purpose and importance of data collection, determine what data should be collected, assess their current practices and capacity for data collection, understand how to present data to stakeholders, and identify barriers to data collection and ways to begin or improve data collection.

The third learning community session, "Practical Approaches to Lawful Information Sharing", was hosted by CSG Justice Center on April 10, 2019. This session focused on how information can be legally and appropriately shared among PMHC partners. The webinar featured Detective Dempsey from the Los Angeles Police Department who spoke about developing policies, procedures, and other strategies to facilitate information sharing. Time was also included for FY18 JMHCP Category 2 grantees to ask questions of each other and the expert presenter.

On March 6, 2019, the second session in the Learning Community webinar series for FY18 JMHCP Category 2 Law Enforcement grantees was held. This session focused on strategic planning processes.

The 4th Annual National SAKI Grantees Meeting was hosted June 6–7 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Arlington, Virginia. Each SAKI grantee was able to send up to three representatives to this year’s meeting. In addition, all non-SAKI and non-DANY jurisdictions interested in sexual assault response reform were each invited to send two individuals to the meeting. This year, abstracts submitted by SAKI sites for peer-to-peer presentation sessions were implemented for the first time.

IACP will develop and conduct a strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) analysis to identify TTA needs for each task force. The SWOT analysis will be conducted using electronic surveying and phone interviews. Based on the outcome of the assessments, in consultation with BJA, IACP will develop/enhance/refine training for delivery to the ECM task forces.

During this webinar, IIR hosted representatives from the Tampa Police Department (TPD) to discuss their Violent Crimes Bureau (VCB) and its successful gun crime reduction strategies. This webinar explored the successes and lessons learned within the VCB, specific gun crime reduction strategies and their effectiveness so far, and the TPD's ideas for future improvement.
