On March 12, 2024, the BJA senior policy advisor and the SLATT Program team hosted an advisory board meeting to provide updates on the program, with a primary focus on training development, deliveries, and recent requests. The meeting concluded with a roundtable discussion in which board members acknowledged recent SLATT enhancements and offered recommendations to further advance the program.

On March 25–28, 2024, members of the State and Local Anti-Terrorism Training (SLATT) team conducted stakeholder outreach and provided in-person training at the 2024 National Fusion Center Association Annual Training Event, hosted in Washington, D.C. During the three-day event, SLATT team members engaged with federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial partners to discuss key issues impacting fusion centers and to identify future training opportunities.

The SLATT monthly partner meeting was held on March 7, 2024. SLATT partner meetings are convened to discuss current initiatives and progress toward completing SLATT tasks.

During the month of March 2024, 61 new SLATT user accounts were created. Of the new accounts, 21 were approved as SLATT direct accounts, 36 were created via Regional Information Sharing Systems (RISS) program credentials, and four were created via Federal Bureau of Investigation, Law Enforcement Enterprise Portal, program credentials.

The SLATT team addressed approximately 25 inquiries received from users submitting questions or requests using the “Contact Us” button on the slatt.org website. Inquiries related to SLATT training, resources, webinars, publications, login issues, website access, and general questions.

On February 22, 2024, a member of the SLATT team and two SMEs delivered two in-person presentations at the Wisconsin Active Threat Integrated Response Conference, hosted in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. The first presentation consisted of a SLATT Program overview and the Detect and Interdict: Specialized Roles in Uncovering and Preventing Terrorism (DISRUPT) lesson titled, “The First Responder’s View of the San Bernardino, CA Terrorist Attack,” which occurred on December 2, 2015, in San Bernardino, California. Approximately 130 participants attended the presentation.

On February 22, 2024, a member of the SLATT team and two SMEs delivered two in-person presentations at the Wisconsin Active Threat Integrated Response Conference, hosted in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. The second presentation consisted of a SLATT Program overview and the DISRUPT lesson titled, “Organized Violent Extremism at Protest-Style Events.” Approximately 110 participants attended the presentation. QR codes were provided to attendees at the conclusion of the sessions to access SLATT Program and presentation resources, and to provide evaluation feedback on the training.
