On March 25–28, 2024, members of the State and Local Anti-Terrorism Training (SLATT) team conducted stakeholder outreach and provided in-person training at the 2024 National Fusion Center Association Annual Training Event, hosted in Washington, D.C. During the three-day event, SLATT team members engaged with federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial partners to discuss key issues impacting fusion centers and to identify future training opportunities. SLATT promotional materials with quick response (QR) codes to access SLATT Program resources were distributed throughout the event, which was attended by approximately 800 participants.
On March 28, 2024, the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) senior policy advisor, a SLATT team member, and a representative from the National White Colar Crime Center (NW3C), provided a breakout presentation titled, “Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow: Training and Education Needs, a Discussion with the National Network of Fusion Centers.” The presentation consisted of an overview of Department of Justice Programs, to include federal resources, services, and funding, and overviews of the SLATT and NW3C programs. The presentation, which was attended by approximately 40 participants, included an interactive discussion focused on fusion center needs related to processes, systems, networks, and training. Promotional materials for the SLATT, NW3C, Center for Task Force Training, and 28 Code of Federal Regulations programs were distributed to attendees, and a QR code was provided to access numerous intelligence and investigative resources.
