Objective 1: Individualized Technical Assistance to Grantees In August, CSG Justice Center staff continued to meet with PADOC regarding staffing changes within the agency. PADOC has hired a full-time grants manager who will serve as the point of contact for all federal reporting. The current primary point of contact for the grant requested to be relieved of all duties related to this grant once all Parole Case Managers (PCMs) are onboard. He is working with the DOC's deputy secretary to identify a Statewide Coordinator who will assume all responsibilities related to this grant.

Objective 2: Technology Development Technical Assistance Progress on the Recidiviz technology tool has been delayed in August due to PADOC leadership transitions and the need to access data from a new system (Vantage). This has required setting up additional daily transfers and building a pipeline to integrate with the new data system. Recidiviz data analysts spent time validating the data in the tool with users and specifically ensured that previously identified bugs were fixed in the latest version.

Objective 2: Technology Development Technical Assistance In July, Recidiviz had conversations with many of the 15 trusted testers who got access to the administrative supervision tool. Based on this feedback, Recidiviz will make needed changes to the tool to improve its accuracy and functionality.

Objective 1: Individualized Technical Assistance to Grantees In July, CSG Justice Center staff continued to meet with PADOC regarding staffing changes within the agency. PADOC has hired a full-time grants manager set to begin in two weeks . The deputy secretary of PADOC Deputy Secretary resigned from his position and the new Deputy Secretary will begin the week of July 29. PADOC reports that the case manager hired for the Pittsburgh District is working on inputting all participant data in the joint CSG Justice Center and PADOC spreadsheet.

1/4/24: Video conference with Nate Simon (Pittsburgh Office, Director, PADOC) and trusted tester Najee Easley (Parole Officer, PADOC) to walk through the latest concepts for the administrative supervision tool in more detail and hear their feedback. (2 people in attendance representing 1 agency)

PADOC discussed the status of hiring and developing a data tracking tool. (1 person in attendance representing 1 agency).

Objective 2: Technology Development Technical Assistance In June, Recidiviz rolled out the administrative supervision tool to 15 additional trusted testers in PA. Recidiviz is awaiting feedback on functionality and general changes needed as these testers utilize the tool.

Until the grants manager position is refilled full-time, the grant is currently being transitioned to two grant managers. Within the next month, PADOC will be experiencing upper management staffing changes, yet that news has not been made public to date.

Objective 2: Technology Development Technical Assistance In May, Recidiviz conducted front- and back-end engineering for the administrative supervision tool, as well as engagement with "trusted testers" to get feedback on the appearance and functionality of the tool. Engineering work this month focused on solving a data error that resulted in people with ineligible charges appearing in the tool, as well as on developing an understanding of the impact special conditions have on administrative supervision eligibility.

Objective 1: Individualized Technical Assistance to Grantees In May, CSG Justice Center staff continued to meet with PADOC regarding staffing changes occurring withing the agency. The grants manager transitioned from her DOC position and the grant is currently being transitioned to a new grants manager. The primary contact for the grant was promoted to Interim District Director while the current Director is out on leave. In response, a case manager at the PADOC Pittsburgh District will attend monthly calls.
