The Bothell, Washington Police Department requested an assessment of their current crime analysis processes and capacity. Julie Wartell was selected to fulfill the request and provided technical assistance with examining technology, data, and staffing around providing the best products to patrol, investigations, and administration. The site visit was conducted on November 1-2, 2017 and involved the Chief, Deputy Chief, multiple Captains and Sergeants, and crime analysts. Ms. Wartell delivered a final recommendations report to Bothell PD in December 2017.

The Nashville Metropolitan Police Department (MNPD), as part of the Nashville Public Safety Partnership (PSP) site, requested technical assistance under the BJA NTTAC Crime Analysis on Demand (CAoD) program to improve existing programming and reduce the prevalence of violent crime. MNPD identified Julie Wartell as a potential technical assistance provider. BJA NTTAC is currently working with Ms. Wartell to determine whether she can effectively fulfill this request, which will be transferred to the Option Year 1 (OY1) contract.

Tuscon Police Department requested a Crime Analysis on Demand (CAoD) to assess their analytical capacity and make recommendations to enhance the crime analysis function in the department. Julie Wartell was selected to fulfill the request and provided an assessment of their COMPSTAT model. The CAoD assessment occurred from November 17, 2017 to June 30, 2018 and involved the Tuscon Police Department.

We are requesting technical assistance with an assessment of our current crime analysis processes and capacity. We would like someone to examine our current tools for technology, data and staffing analysis. This would include evaluation of data we are producing for patrol, investigations and administration. We would like to receive recommendations for enhancements. The potential need for future training would be determined based on the initial assessment.

The Reno, Nevada Police Department requested 30 Blue Courage: Heart and Mind of the Guardian participant kits. Blue Courage, Inc. was selected to fulfill the request and shipped 30 participant kits to Reno, Nevada in August 2017.

Blue Courage, Inc. was selected to fulfill the request and provided the five-day academy to 25 members of the Nevada Highway Patrol, Reno, Nevada Police Department, and the Washoe County, Nevada Sheriff's Office from May 1 – 5, 2017 in Reno, Nevada.

The request for assistance was referred to the Office of Justice Programs (OJP) Diagnostic Center on 4/19/2017.

The Lane County Department of Parole & Probation requested assistance to revise its policies and procedures to align with their systems change to incorporate evidence-based practices (EBPs) into every aspect of their work with clients. The Carey Group was selected to fulfill the request and provided review, editing, and layout of the nine evidence-based policies. The Carey Group delivered the final revised policies to Lane County in January 2017.
