This onsite meeting is part of the training and technical assistance provided under the NCJA Strategic Planning TTA (see accompanying TTA entry). The meeting is tentatively schedule for March 4-6, 2018 at the Alabama Department of Economics and Community Affairs.The planned agenda will include a meeting with staff on Monday to prep and practice for a series of town hall meetings across 7 regions of the state.

Outreach about the Strategic Planning TTA program during several events attended by state agencies. At the two-day Institute for State Criminal Justice and Public Safety Executives, co-hosted by the National Governors Association (NGA) and the National Criminal Justice Association (NCJA) in December, 2017, SAAs participated in a breakout session in which participants were given an overview of the TTA progra and learned of ways that CJPAs and SAAs can work collaboratively towards CJS plannig and program implementation.

The Indiana state agency administrator (SAA) attended the Institute for State Criminal Justice and Public Safety Executives, held December 14 - 15, 2017 in Charleston, SC. This event, co-hosted with the National Governors Association, included attendance at the SAA breakout session were the NCJA provided information about the SAA TTA program, options for training, and online resources that will be available.

On September 12, 2017, the Nebraska Crime Commission contacted a Senior Policy Advisor at NCJA to request with a Tier 1 TTA request. (Tier 1 support involves less intensive problem-solving response that include deliver of information through email, telephone, document dissemination and referral to websites or other resources). The Senior Policy Advisor referred this request to the Program Manager. Resources about the TTA program and a link to the online TTA request form were provided on October 28. The NCJA followed up with the SAA on October 31 for preliminary discussion of state need.

On September 29, 2018 the North Dakota SAA contacted the NCJA to request information about the statewide planning TTA program as well as local need. A conference call was held with the SA partner on October 19. The NCA also provided a link to a webinar training on strategic planning hosted by the NCJA, as well as information about the new federal revisions to the JAG statute. Followup was made by email on November 26 to discuss progress. Outreach was made to the SAA on December 11, where the NCJA learned that they were working to identify stakeholders.
