On October 26, 2023, the SLATT and NW3C Programs hosted a webinar titled, Emerging Technology Overview. The first portion of the ninety-minute webinar was delivered by an FBI SME who discussed the strategic implications of emerging technologies, the rapid pace of technological advancement, and how these technologies can create new avenues for public safety, while also fostering impediments. The second portion of the webinar consisted of SLATT and NW3C program overviews, to include providing a QR code that directly linked attendees to SLATT resources.

On October 24, 2023, the SLATT team, in collaboration with the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C), hosted a webinar titled, Decisions During Time of Uncertainty Using Intelligence. The first portion of the ninety-minute webinar was delivered by a subject-matter expert (SME) from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), who discussed the nature of uncertainty and how to leverage intelligence as a mechanism to increase confidence in decision making at all levels of law enforcement.

On October 14, 2023, the senior policy advisor from the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), a SLATT team member, and two subject-matter experts (SMEs), delivered in-person training during a leadership track session at the IACP Conference 2023.

The Institute for Intergovernmental Research (IIR) Senior Manager for the SLATT team provided a SLATT Program overview at an IACP workshop facilitated by the BJA senior program advisor. The presentation, titled, Small, Rural, and Tribal Agencies: How Do I Work “Free” Into My Budget, was attended by approximately 50 IACP members.

Members of the SLATT team attended the Association of State Criminal Investigative Agencies (ASCIA) Fall Conference, hosted on October 14 – 17, 2023, in San Diego, California. The purpose of SLATT attendance was to build threat mitigation capacity through specialized training that reinforces community partnerships and constitutional policing as core components of this activity. SLATT resource cards were available to attendees at the Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, and the Regional Information Sharing Systems display booths.

The Center worked with the Georgia's Council of Accountability Court Judges (CACJ) to support the 2023 CACJ Annual Training Conference between September 10-13, 2023 in Athens, Georgia. The Center has provided financial support to invite a subject matter expert Captain Brian Kenney with the Nashua, New Hampshire Police Department to presented on a requested topic.
