On December 6, 2023, members of the SLATT team provided in-person PROTECT (Prevent and Respond: Officer Training to Effectively Counter Terrorism) training to members of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, Intelligence Division, during their quarterly meeting in San Bernardino, California. The training consisted of a survival story briefing from a subject-matter expert (SME) who was the first law enforcement officer to respond to the December 2, 2015, terrorist attack at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California.

The SLATT monthly partner planning meeting was held on December 7, 2023 (at 10 – 10;30 am ET). Monthly meetings are convened to discuss current initiatives and progress toward completing SLATT tasks.

The SLATT team addressed approximately 41 inquiries received from users submitting questions or requests using the “Contact Us” button on the slatt.org website. Inquiries related to SLATT training, resources, webinars, publications, login issues, website access, and general questions.

On November 17, 2023, members of the SLATT team attended a meeting with members of the START team at their office located on the campus of the University of Maryland. The teams discussed specific projects under the 2022 SLATT grant, to include development of new publications and START support for the development of two topical webinars associated with the new SLATT/START publications.

On November 29, 2023, the SLATT and NW3C Programs hosted a second webinar titled, Emerging Technology Overview. The first portion of the ninety-minute webinar consisted of SLATT and NW3C program overviews, to include providing a QR code that linked attendees to SLATT resources. The second portion of the webinar was delivered by an FBI SME who discussed the strategic implications of emerging technologies, the rapid pace of technological advancement, and how these technologies can create new avenues for public safety, while also fostering impediments.

On November 15, 2023, the SLATT team hosted a webinar titled, Threat Assessment Threat Management Overview for Law Enforcement Executives. Prior to delivery, members of the SLATT team developed and broadly disseminated an electronic training flyer to promote the webinar and to enable registration.
