Objective 2: Technology Development Technical Assistance From September 11-13, the Recidiviz state engagement team and the project's technical lead met with stakeholders in Washington to discuss the vision for the project and ways that Recidiviz can offer support. Recidiviz received access to the required DOC data and spent the month of September getting familiar with the data to set up the necessary environment to begin analysis. The CSG Justice Center team met with WADOC leadership to present a preliminary project scope to address persistent absconsion trends in the state.

Objective 1: Individualized Technical Assistance to Grantees In August, CSG Justice Center staff continued to meet with WADOC staff to discuss progress regarding the partnership with Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA), who is expected to handle the legislative proposal for the Superior Court DV Court. YWCA is actively reviewing the draft proposal prepared by the previous partner.

Objective 2: Technology Development Technical Assistance On July 2, Recidiviz received approval from the BJA Policy Office to move forward with WA's technology tool project. The Recidiviz team spent the month finalizing the contract and data sharing agreement (DSA) with WADOC attorneys and are awaiting signature. On July 23, Recidiviz and CSG Justice Center teams hosted a kickoff call with WADOC leadership to officially launch the project and discuss next steps, including data access and a potential site visit in August.

1/3/24 - Video call with Julie Dames-Ryan (Grants Administrator, WADOC) and Brooke Hays (Management Analyst, WADOC) to discuss progress on goals and objectives. WADOC shared the challenges of having the specialty DV docket in place. WADOC also shared that they received approval from BJA to transition the program to people with DV-related charges who are pending release. (2 people in attendance representing 1 agency)

Objective 2: Technology Development Technical Assistance IOn June 6th, Recidiviz, CSG Justice Center, and WADOC staff responded to BJA's budget narrative comments and resubmitted it to BJA. Jeffrey Locke (BJA) approved the most recent edits, and Recidiviz and CSG Justice Center staff spent the month updating the statement of work and finalizing the budget/budget narrative.

Objective 1: Individualized Technical Assistance to Grantees In June, CSG Justice Center Staff continued to meet with WADOC staff to discuss the legislative proposal. WADOC held a second meeting with Spokane Regional Domestic Violence Coalition (SRDVC) at the end of May for further discussion about the feasibility of continuing with the legislation proposal with the new leadership. SRDVC met with the board of directors and are confident about proceeding with the legislation proposal.

Objective 1: Individualized Technical Assistance to Grantees CSG Justice Center staff remained in communication with WADOC and learned that the Spokane Regional Domestic Violence Coalition (SRDVC) Interim Director is meeting with the board to discuss the feasibility of continuing with the legislation, and additional information will be provided at the next scheduled meeting for the end of May.

Objective 2: Technology Development Technical Assistance In May, Recidiviz and the CSG Justice Center worked with WADOC to respond to BJA's feedback around the use of AI in the project and had a meeting to sync up to discuss issues. Recidiviz reviewed WADOC's contract internally.

Objective 2: Technology Development Technical Assistance On April 11, Recidiviz and CSG Justice Center staff received feedback on the proposal and budget narrative and made changes to address BJA’s feedback. The document was then sent to WADOC for review. Recidiviz also met with WADOC counsel to discuss contract provisions.
