RTI will host a convening on September 25-26, 2023 at RTI Headquarters in Research Triangle Park, NC. This convening will allow NCCP sites to come together to discuss challenges related to fatal and non-fatal shooting investigations.

IIR is recognized for recruiting and retaining the very best SMEs and instructors, ensuring an ongoing infusion of new talent, and employing an internal vetting process for all contractors. IIR will continue to identify, vet, and utilize new instructors, as needed, on an ongoing basis to ensure that relevant experience, diversity, and a range of expertise are available to the program. SMEs will be utilized to support curricula development, instructional efforts, and providing needed resources in support of this program.

IIR continued to utilize the Smartsheet subaward process tracker for recording and monitoring subaward status activity, which was also reported to BJA on weekly status conference calls. BJA was also provided with real-time access to the Smartsheet SWB dashboard that provides data illustrations on the initial applications as well as statuses on the subaward process activity, including a subaward allocation overview. In addition, IIR provided ongoing access to the SWB dashboard and held weekly status conference calls with BJA.

Join us to discuss strategies that enhance tribal justice systems including essential information on court development; alcohol and substance misuse; probation, reentry and policing; and addressing violent crime. We will explore promising practices in multidisciplinary, multijurisdictional, and trauma-informed approaches to the development and implementation of justice programs.

In July, CSG Justice Center staff engaged in extensive internal planning to determine milestones for the next 90 days of work on Justice Counts. The Justice Counts policy team began working in tandem on two separate tracks—the partner side and the state side. The partner-side track worked internally and with staff from Measures for Justice (MFJ) to advance plans for the Tier 2 metrics. CSG Justice Center staff also worked with project partner Recidiviz to continue adding Alpha Partners to test the digital infrastructure and to advance the work of the Technical Implementation Guides.

During this reporting period, 55 submissions were received and processed through the Southwest Border Program Document Upload form—an online form which allows agencies to upload documents with fields for agency comments and select submission types such as quotes/bids and justification letters, invoices for reimbursement, proof of training, post-implementation evaluation, and more.

This training program will utilize the Bring Your Own Case (BYOC) model to provide needed training to capital defense teams, as well as provide the basis for ongoing technical assistance. The combined defense team will work with a faculty of leading experts on issues directly relevant to the defenders' training needs. The agenda is developed in accordance with the BYOC model and tailored to the specific training needs of the trainees. The program will be preceded by a single-day train-the-trainers program for program facilitators.
