MECP and The Arc's National Center on Criminal Justice and Disability (NCCJD) partnered for MECP's July 2014 webinar. NCCJD's Program Manager, Leigh Ann Davis, was the guest presenter. This webinar provides an overview of the common types of violence, risk factors for violence and signs of possible victimization among children with disabilities. The presenter provides examples on how to improve responses to effectively serve child victims with disabilities.

Demonstration site coaches provide guidance on effective strategies to meet the goals and objectives proposed as proposed in the sites' grant applications. The coaches provide the sites with a direct link to the National PREA Resource Center. Periodic reports on both the progress made and the implementation challenges encountered at the FY '12 sites are prepared and submitted to BJA.

Grant program facilitate by the PRC. 43 awards were made totaling nearly $5 million to support efforts in local jurisdictions across the nation to establish zero-tolerance cultures for sexual abuse in confinement facilities. Specifically, the grantees were funded to improve leadership, organizational culture, and performance; review and revise policies and practices; educate inmates; establish victim support services; and collect and analyze data on sexual abuse in facilities.
