NCPC will conduct its 24-hour advanced crime prevention course November 11-13, 2014 in Dallas, TX. This is a follow-up to the basic crime prevention course conducted there in 2013.

The Exploring School Safety Strategies Course is a two-and-a half day course designed for those who work in the law enforcement and school administration arena. It provides a comprehensive approach to enhancing school safety and security. Participants will learn how to improve transportation, signage, and reduce fear for school safety. They will learn how to conduct a security safety survey and rely on all participants’ expertise to make recommendations to enhance school safety and comfort of students and staff.

The Basic Crime Prevention Course is a three-day course designed for those who work in the law enforcement and crime prevention arena. It provides an introduction to opportunity based crime prevention. The training will prepare participants to understand and deliver basic crime prevention services when they return to their home community. Participants will learn about the development of crime prevention and understand the various types of crime prevention and which techniques are best.

The Advanced Crime Prevention Course is a three-day course designed for those who work in the law enforcement and crime prevention arena. It provides a comprehensive approach to “opportunity reduction” based crime prevention. The training will engage participants in the process needed to prepare, understand and deliver advanced topics in crime prevention in their communities. Participants will learn about various developments and emerging trends in the crime prevention field and understand the various types of crime prevention techniques available to address these issues.

Law Enforcement Sensitive

Over the last several years, law enforcement agencies, school districts, private companies and the community at large have dealt with a variety of active shooter situations. These incidents have been increasing over the last year and have occurred at shopping malls, schools, and other public events. A debrief of these incidents show they differ in suspect background, timing of day, pre-event activities etc. This webinar will shift the discussion to focus on those initial characteristics that lead to these mass shooting events.
