On March 2, 2023, NDCRC co-directors hosted a webinar with Carolyn Hardin (All Rise) on how to write a competitive grant proposal ("dos and don'ts") for the FY23 BJA discretionary grant program.
NDCRC will host a webinar on February 15, 2023 from 2:30-4:00 PM ET with BJA Policy Advisors Gregory Torain and Nicko Taylor to provide detailed information on the BJA FY23 Adult Treatment Court Discretionary Grant Program. The session will incorporate an interactive question and answer session; it will also be recorded and available for viewing after initial broadcasting.
NDCRC co-directors Dr. Christina Lanier and Dr. Kristen DeVall, and NDCRC director of psychology Dr. Sally MacKain, gave four presentations during All Rise's RISE23 conference in June 2023: The Great Exchange: The National Drug Court Resource Center (NDCRC) and Your Best Idea of the Year, Being a Parent in an Adult Treatment Court: What It Means and Why It’s Important, The Missing Link: Comprehensive Case Management in Treatment Courts, and Peer Recovery Support: Guidance for Treatment Courts.
The NDCRC Advisory Board met once during spring 2023 on February 27.
NDCRC co-directors Dr. Kristen DeVall and Dr. Christina Lanier presented one in-person event (other than RISE23) during spring 2023. On April 19, they presented a grant writing workshop at the Indiana Judicial Conference for Indiana treatment court practitioners.
NDCRC co-directors Dr. Christina Lanier and Dr. Kristen DeVall engaged in one virtual event during this reporting period. On May 19, 2023, they presented a "lunch and learn" online session to treatment court practitioners in Pennsylvania introducing the NDCRC and its resources and research.
NAICJA presented on the Native Veterans Legal Assistance Project at the Tribal Nations Gathering on June 26, 2023.
This virtual site visit was held during the early implementation phase of the grantee's project to discuss the following topics: 1) discuss best practices regarding qualitative and quantitative data collection to evaluate program effectiveness and 2) discuss best practices for compiling data into a narrative that supports the overall sustainability of the program. Another goal of the virtual site visit was to develop plans to finalize data collection and analysis along with synthesizing data into a sustainability narrative.
