NW3C will send two staff, Melissa Farrington and Kathy Alexander to the 2023 Small & Rural Law Enforcement Executive Association Annual Conference & Training Event, Small & Rural Law Enforcement Executive Association to operate the BJA/NW3C booth that communicates training and technical assistance resources that are available to criminal justice practitioners.

The research division provides scholarship support for individuals to receive restorative justice Circle certificate training from Underserved Populations for Underserved Populations. To date, support has been provided for 4.5 attendees.

The research division of the NCORJ provides scholarship support for individuals to attend COMPASS science communication training. As of May 2023, two attendees have been provided support.

Provided scholarship support for 15 scholarship recipients from the Certificate in RJ Facilitation and Leadership and 10 recipients of the National Restorative Coaching Program (NRCP) to attend a three-day Professional Development Gathering at the University of San Diego.

The BJA senior policy advisor and a member of the SLATT team attended and conducted stakeholder outreach at the 2023 National Sheriff’s Association (NSA) Annual Conference, hosted on June 26 – 29, 2023, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Approximately 750 NSA and partner agency representatives attended the conference. An NSA event-specific half card was developed and distributed during the conference to provide attendees with SLATT Program information and a QR code that links to the SLATT website and relevant resources.

Members of the SLATT team attended and participated in the following national law enforcement conference:
• From April 30 – May 3, 2023, two SLATT team members attended the Association of State Criminal Investigative Agencies (ASCIA) Spring Conference in Nashville, Tennessee. Approximately 205 ASCIA members attended the event. Numerous attendees received event-specific half cards with SLATT Program information and a QR code that links to the SLATT website and relevant SLATT resources.

NW3C plans to send Glen Gainer, Ken Brooks, Jeff Lybarger, Michelle Kreps to the NSA Winter Conference to participate in the discussions, network and to collect information that can be incorporated into the NW3C/BJA curriculums.

NW3C to send staff Jim Emerson to attend the IACP CCDE Quarterly Meeting as chair in the Computer Crime and Digital Evidence (CCDE) Committee that works to strengthen law enforcement capabilities to prevent, investigate and prosecute information age crimes involving digital technologies and evidence, promotes expert collaboration among agencies, government, business and academia, identifies resource needs, advocates for enhancements and sharing, and advises Association leadership and members.
