On March 25–28, 2024, members of the State and Local Anti-Terrorism Training (SLATT) team conducted stakeholder outreach and provided in-person training at the 2024 National Fusion Center Association Annual Training Event, hosted in Washington, D.C. During the three-day event, SLATT team members engaged with federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial partners to discuss key issues impacting fusion centers and to identify future training opportunities.

Due to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center - RVCRI partnership, one Douglas investigator will able to attend the April 2024 Digital Forensic Investigator 1 Program , which is a one-week long course designed to provide investigators with the basic training necessary to complete a forensically sound acquisition of digital evidence from mobile devices and external media devices. It also includes an understanding of cell technologies and the skills to frame an investigation from evidence obtained through a device extraction.

The RVCRI team supported one individual from the Comanche County, KS Sheriff's Office to attend the two-week FLETC Advanced Forensic Techniques in Crime Scene Investigations I training from April 15 - April 26.

Due to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center - RVCRI partnership, Chief Matt Simpson was able to attend the April 2024 DHS Leadership Academy, which is a two-week long leadership course for individuals in a command authority position or could assume command authority. The training includes segments on leadership challenges, adaptive leadership, leading through a crisis, navigating the seven c's of leadership, wellness in law enforcement, servant leadership, and a capstone group project.

NW3C plans to send Lori Petro and JD Nickolas to attend the Violent Crime Reduction Summit to collect best practices in violent crime reductions that can be incorporated into training curricula.
