Objective 2: Technology Development Technical Assistance On July 18, Recidiviz received the first batch of data from TDCJ and began to review and ingest that data. CSG Justice Center and Recidiviz staff conducted a site visit to Texas on 7/29-7/31 to meet with leadership, go through the data granularly with TDCJ IT, and meet with field staff to learn of their needs and scope the contact standards tool and relevant processes.

In August, CSG Justice Center staff continued to socialize the guidelines and engage key partners in the field, conduct calls for technical assistance (TA) requests, provide TA to select states, conduct a presentation at the American Correctional Association (ACA) conference in Nashville, TN, assist internal colleagues with a virtual site visit presentation centered around the Risk-Need-Responsivity (RNR) model, develop presentations and coordinate logistics for upcoming conference sessions, and further identify project next steps.

Objective 1: Individualized Technical Assistance to Grantees In August, CSG Justice Center staff continued to meet with PADOC regarding staffing changes within the agency. PADOC has hired a full-time grants manager who will serve as the point of contact for all federal reporting. The current primary point of contact for the grant requested to be relieved of all duties related to this grant once all Parole Case Managers (PCMs) are onboard. He is working with the DOC's deputy secretary to identify a Statewide Coordinator who will assume all responsibilities related to this grant.

Objective 2: Technology Development Technical Assistance Progress on the Recidiviz technology tool has been delayed in August due to PADOC leadership transitions and the need to access data from a new system (Vantage). This has required setting up additional daily transfers and building a pipeline to integrate with the new data system. Recidiviz data analysts spent time validating the data in the tool with users and specifically ensured that previously identified bugs were fixed in the latest version.

Objective 2: Technology Development Technical Assistance In July, Recidiviz had conversations with many of the 15 trusted testers who got access to the administrative supervision tool. Based on this feedback, Recidiviz will make needed changes to the tool to improve its accuracy and functionality.

Objective 1: Individualized Technical Assistance to Grantees In July, CSG Justice Center staff continued to meet with PADOC regarding staffing changes within the agency. PADOC has hired a full-time grants manager set to begin in two weeks . The deputy secretary of PADOC Deputy Secretary resigned from his position and the new Deputy Secretary will begin the week of July 29. PADOC reports that the case manager hired for the Pittsburgh District is working on inputting all participant data in the joint CSG Justice Center and PADOC spreadsheet.

Objective 1: Individualized Technical Assistance to Grantees In July, CSG Justice Center staff continued to meet monthly with NYDOCCS staff to discuss project implementation and vendor selection. The Contractor Procurement Unit (CPU) provided a turnaround timeframe of four to six weeks for the scope of work submitted on June 25. NYDOCCS reports that they are continuing to work with the CPU to get the Request for Proposals (RFP) released earlier than the projected approval timeframe.

TLPI's Tribal Justice TTA Project includes Objective 3: Provide (and support) General Training on and off site, including Task 3.3: Conduct one national and/or one regional Enhancement Training annually. Each year the Tribal Law and Policy Institute offers a national Wellness Court Training. The 2024 Healing to Wellness Court Implementation and Enhancement Training, was held over the course of 3 days from September18th to September 20th, in Phoenix, Arizona. Each day consisted of plenary session(s) and 4 workshop tracks, for a total of 34 workshops and 2 BJA Feedback Sessions.
