The NCJA project team reviewed the 2018 Strategic Plan submitted by the Michigan SAA. This plan was submitted in the year prior to the new strategic planning requirement mandated by the Justice for All Reauthorization Act for 2019 applications.

Plan Strengths: The Michigan plan has clear goals that were developed by stakeholders representing necessary criminal justice participants. MI identifies clear and measurable goals with specific targets and metrics for monitoring performance.

The NCJA project team reviewed the 2018 Strategic Plan submitted by the Maine SAA. This plan was submitted in the year prior to the new strategic planning requirement mandated by the Justice for All Reauthorization Act for 2019 applications.

Plan Strengths: Maine’s plan is highly data driven through both survey and research data from the Maine Statistical Analysis Center. Stakeholders are well engaged through the JAC. Clear and measurable goals are defined in the plan. The beginnings of an evaluation strategy are defined in the plan.

The NCJA project team reviewed the 2018 Strategic Plan submitted by the Maryland SAA. This plan was submitted in the year prior to the new strategic planning requirement mandated by the Justice for All Reauthorization Act for 2019 applications.

Plan Strengths: The Maryland plan has clear goals that are related to their problem statement. Maryland’s objectives are clear regarding increasing stakeholder engagement, utilizing EBP, and creating a performance management system.

The NCJA project team reviewed the 2018 Strategic Plan submitted by the Massachusetts SAA. This plan was submitted in the year prior to the new strategic planning requirement mandated by the Justice for All Reauthorization Act for 2019 applications.

Plan Strengths: The MA plan has clear, well-defined, and measurable goals. Each goal is supported with quantitative data. The plan clearly addresses methods to improve data access. An evaluation strategy is presented in the plan for subgrantees. EBP are highlighted throughout the plan.

The NCJA project team reviewed the 2018 Strategic Plan submitted by the Louisiana SAA. This plan was submitted in the year prior to the new strategic planning requirement mandated by the Justice for All Reauthorization Act for 2019 applications.

Plan Strengths: Louisiana has clear goals for the entire criminal justice system. The goals are well defined with strategies that are relevant and measurable. LA has clear objectives with well-defined measurables.

Plan Strengths:
The Strategic plan has specific and tangible goals. The goals include realistic and achievable deadlines. There is some data to support the need to achieve the goals outlined.
