The Virgin Island Department of Justice requested training for local law enforcement and detectives in the investigation and prosecution of violent and financial crimes. BJA NTTAC referred this request to the Police Executive Research Forum.
BJA NTTAC referred Ms. Humphrey to IIR, as IIR was in the process of setting up a State and Local Anti-Terrorism Training (SLATT) one-day workshop and half-day training and technical assistance for the New York board of training academy directors' trainers. BJA NTTAC also provided Ms. Humphrey with additional training resources.
Bette Goings, the Tribal Court Administrator, for the Oglala Sioux Tribal (OST) Court located in Pine Ridge, South Dakota, inquired about training opportunities for tribal probation officers. The request was referred to Fox Valley Technical College because they have an existing BJA grant award to develop and deliver training for tribal probation officers.
CNA SME/consultant Julie Wartell is providing community survey assistance to Compton VRN to measure community perspectives on public safety.
Fort Myers, Florida Police Department (PD) requested a “T3: Tact, Tactics, and Trust Train the Trainer” course. The request was referred to Polis Solutions and not fulfilled by BJA NTTAC.
The Lawrence, Massachusetts, Police Department (PD) requested assistance to streamline the collection, collation, analysis, and dissemination of data products. BJA NTTAC referred the requestor to Christopher Bruce, who provided assistance directly to Lawrence PD without BJA NTTAC support.
The Colorado Springs, Colorado Police Department (PD), requested technical assistance for improvements to its internal affairs division, specifically in the areas of citizen complaint processes and officer early-warning systems. The request for assistance was referred to the Office of Justice Programs (OJP) Diagnostic Center on 4/19/2017.
The Little Rock, Arkansas Police Department, as part of the Little Rock Violence Reduction Network (VRN) site, requested training and technical assistance for crime analysts. BJA NTTAC referred the requester to Chris Bruce, who provides training through the International Association of Crime Analysts and offered his time onsite to complete the training request.
Deborah Lee requested information on admission of evidence from electronic devices in defense hearings. BJA NTTAC referred her to the National White Collar Crime Center, an organization with existing BJA grants specializing in cyber training and electronics forensic exploitation.
