The Virginia Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Action Alliance recently held a conference with the goal of establishing relationships between its member organizations and correctional facilities in VA for provision of services to victims of confinement-based sexual abuse.

This webinar will feature the PRC and JDI as presenters to talk in more detail about PREA, the PREA audit, the role of the PRC, and examples of how victim advocacy organizations can work with correctional facilities in the provision of services.

Meeting with advocacy stakeholders to discuss PREA implementation and to address advocate concerns and questions. The PRC staff assisted staff from DOJ, BJA and the PREA Management Office in the development of talking points and resources.

The PREA audit looms large for agencies and facilities working on PREA implementation. This webinar will provide advice and guidance for working effectively with your auditor and what you should expect from your auditor. The webinar will profile the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (NDDOCR) and the lessons learned from their experience.

Join us to hear from Jerome Williams, PREA Compliance Department, Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD) regarding TJJD’s efforts at statewide juvenile facility PREA Compliance. The goal of the initiative was to ensure compliance of all juvenile detention facilities, state and local, across Texas. Mr. Williams will describe the process TJJD embarked upon, including roadblocks encountered and overcome. The webinar will provide concrete recommendations for how to accomplish similar goals of widespread PREA compliance in addition to ensuring the safety of youth in your custody.

The annual winter American Correctional Association conference is being held in New Orleans, LA. The PREA Resource Center proposed 5 conference presentations, 4 of which were accepted. The PRC is coordinating all aspects of the presentation development including confirming presenters, reviewing and approving presentation slides, and moderating all presentations. Some PRC staff are also primary presenters in 2 of the sessions.

Provide coaching support to 22 BJA FY'14 grantees regarding their efforts for PREA implementation.

Presentation to the CJCA PREA Committee regarding PREA including updates from the PRC and presentation from the field about PREA implementation efforts.

The PRC at the request of BJA PREA Management Office facilitated a webinar to convey information regarding the FY'15 Competitive Grant Solicitation for PREA site-based awards. The PRC managed the creation of the webinar registration, webinar slides and coordinated the speakers for the webinar.

Call with PRC providers to create an opportunity to share any updates about the PRC and to allow time for each provider to provide updates on PREA implementation challenges and successes.

Co-present with Marnie Shiels at OVW at the STOP Administrator Conference on PREA and STOP formula funding. Co-lead two breakout sessions to discuss PREA implementation.
