An interactive workshop that discusses tips and strategize on how to meet the needs of minority participants to ensure that they succeed in treatment court.
The interactive workshop allows participants to analyze their court’s diversity hiring practices and initiatives and learn how to implement improvement strategies and evidence-based practices to current hiring processes.
This workshop provides participants with a discussion of different types of data collection and reporting techniques, review key data elements that treatment courts should be collecting, and discuss strategies for incorporating regular data reporting and continuous improvement into court operations.

On October 11 and 12, Center staff Taylor DeClerck and Shawn Rogers traveled to the 2023 Coordinator/Case Manager conference hosted by the Wisconsin Association of Treatment Court Professionals (WATCP). They delivered two presentations. First one titled "Case Management for Justice Professionals: How to lead from the front line" provided the fundamentals for comprehensive case management, how to become participant-oriented and community based, and assisting with needs outside of substance use treatment.
On September 21,2023, Center staff Sarah Blanco delivered a presentation at the annual New Hampshire Treatment Court Conference in Bartlett, NH. The session titled "Understanding the Emerging Adult: Approaches in Engagement and Treatment" covered developmental perspectives and treatment court responses when working with emerging adults, ages 18-25.
NAICJA staff met with the consultant, Amanda White Eagle, on September 8, 12, and 26 , 2023. On September 26, NAICJA conducted a webinar titled “Perpetual Punishment: Understanding and Addressing Collateral Consequences in Indian Country”. NAICJA is preparing a webinar summary.
TLPI staff, NAICJA staff and consultants collaborated to conducted a webinar “Tribal Healing to Wellness: Developing a Native Veterans Court” on Wednesday, November 14, 2023, to discuss HTWC models for veterans courts particularly the development of the Yurok Veterans Wellness Court.Veterans Webinar with TLPI "An Overview of Legal Issues and Support for Native American and Alaskan Native Veterans"
