NDCRC co-directors Dr. Christina Lanier and Dr. Kristen DeVall participated in four presentations during NADCP's RISE22 conference in July 2022: Grant Writing Workshop, Exploring the Evidence: The Emergence of Peer Recovery Support in Treatment Court, So, What’s New? Findings from the “Painting the Current Picture”: A National Report on Treatment Courts in the United States, and Practical Implications of Peer Recovery Support in Treatment Courts.

In compliance with our BJA funding agreement, the NDCRC attended NADCP's RISE22 conference in-person in Nashville, Tennessee, sponsoring a booth at the exhibitor level. NDCRC staff traveled by plane and road to bring a truck of printed resources and SWAG. Eight full-time staff members attended the conference from Sunday, July 24 to Thursday, July 28. Staff were present at the booth to network with attendees, answer questions, and demonstrate resources available from the NDCRC.

Advisory boards can assist treatment courts in better understanding the experiences of participants and community members. They can also assist in the change process for effective engagement of minority communities. This session will help participants develop an effective advisory board that helps their treatment court team assess resources, risks, and consequences of program changes on their communities.

Focus groups effectively gather in-depth information and a range of perspectives on an important but not well-understood topic. Focus groups can assist treatment courts in better understanding the experiences of staff, participants, and community members. The NADCP Equity and Inclusion Toolkit include organizing and conducting a focus group. This webinar will detail how to organize a focus group and conduct it.

Proposed Activity: NAICJA proposes to conduct a two-day Holistic Defense Roundtable Conference with two (2) proposed sessions outlined below.
Requirement: National Roundtable with (up to 40 attendees) to define and discuss holistic defense elements for tribal settings and identify coordination points that connect national holistic defense efforts. The Roundtable Conference will be held in the Western U.S. to accommodate attendees. (BJA 2018 TCCLA Solicitation, Page 12.)
