Featured in an Article - Paducah Police Add First-Of-Its-Kind Job Position, Deflection Specialist
The purpose of this initial site visit meeting with Pueblo, CO Police Department (PPD) staff aimed to introduce JSS as the Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) provider and understand the agency’s ultimate goals and current status in grant implementation. PPD’s project scope has changed from their proposal. They want to change the focus to implementing a focused-deterrence approach.
The US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Alabama, in collaboration with the Selma Police Department, requested the in-person Gangs and Guns training taught by Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Detectives Steve Barborini and Jim Grindey.

Summary of Successes
Fulton Cty / City of Atlanta have a New Diversion Center set to open in Sept. 2024.
The connection to Alterum was helpful in getting them Peer Certified.
Some new resources opening up in the Metro Atlanta; will be working with them very soon

Beds/shelter/housing still a challenge, but seeing some small progress.
