Training Delivery - Phone (teleconference)

The NCJA hosted a conference call with member SAAs from the Western Region. During this call, we provided TTA outreach services, with information about the TTA services we offer under this grant, and information about how SAAs can request TTA services. SAAs from Arizona, Hawaii, Idaho and Montana participated in the call, which was held on December 19, 2017.

Per our grant, the National Govenors Association leads monthly conference with criminal justice policy advisors (CJPAs) on policy challenges, emerging state issues, and best practices. Calls have taken place the 4th Thursday of every month beginning in July, 2016 and average 10 – 25 callers on each call.

Topics are as follows:

NCCJD hosted 13 web-ex or phone call meetings with Disability Response Teams to effectively prepare each team for training day (to conduct the one-day Pathways to Justice training). This totaled 16 hours of TA.

The Monday Design Team call is a biweekly convening of project partners with Urban PFS evaluation experts to discuss the development of the transaction structuring phase of the Oklahoma Opportunity Youth PFS Project. The first introductory Evaluation Design Team call was held on April 3rd. Calls are scheduled to continue weekly until the project ends on September 30.

The Thursday Data Team call is the convening of all stakeholders that collect, manage, and report on data to inform the Oklahoma Opportunity Youth PFS Project. This weekly time is used to discuss evaluation needs and data analysis. The first Data Team call was held on April 13, and these calls are scheduled to occur weekly until the project end date on September 30th.

Hawaii Department of the Attorney General requested a teleconference with SAKI TTA's justice advocate SME, Emily Burton-Blank.

Office based TA has included regular phone conferences with Baltimore, MD; South Bend, IN; Chattanooga, TN; Birmingham, AL; Gary, IN; Hartford, CT; New Haven, CT; Bridgeport, CT; Peoria, IL; Kansas City, MO; Paterson, NJ; Albany, NY; Newburgh, NY, Detroit, MI; New Orleans, LA; New York, NY; Niagara, NY; Savannah, GA; Jacksonville, FL; Pittsburgh, PA; York, PA; Ft.

Monthly conference calls are held with the state juvenile corrections PREA representative and the PRC team of Peg Ritchie and Dave Gaspar participate by providing the call participants with regular PREA and the Resource Center updates. Additionally, Peg and Dave answer questions that the participants have related to PREA and the Standards.
