This training allowed Westchester District Attorney's Office to speak to police officers from their local community and surrounding New York State communities on the topic of hate crimes and bias incidents. Importantly, because the training was offered in many geographical areas, it gave access to this kind of training to officers who may not otherwise have the ability to attend such trainings. Since the training was open to all law enforcement, not just NYSP, other local departments benefitted from this training as well.
