Title: Racial Equity in Police-led Deflection: Building Trust between Police and Community
BJA requested the presence and participation of the NRTAC team at the IACP 2024 Annual Conference held from October 19-22 in Boston, Massachusetts. This four-day event featured training, networking opportunities, and educational workshops on various topics important to law enforcement and the work of NRTAC. The NRTAC was invited to participate in a BJA TTA roundtable on the fourth day. Mr. Alan Hughes from the National Policing Institute (NPI) represented the NRTAC in the roundtable, which highlighted the various TTA resources NTTAC can provide to agencies throughout the country.
PRC Staff person served as a panelist in the workshop Partnering for Success: Innovative Models for Serving Incarcerated Survivors, which highlighted promising collaborative relationships between rape crisis centers and correctional facilities. Later, staff facilitated an advocate meet up with partners, Just Detention International.
PRC Staff member Teresa Stroud and Director Dana Shoenberg presented in-person training to members of the Council of Juvenile Justice Administrators (CJJA) Summer Business meeting. The meeting is primarily attended by Executive Directors of state Juvenile Justice agencies (or their designee), and Chief Juvenile Probation Officers from locally operated juvenile agencies. The training for this meeting was focused on Staffing Plans. The PRC had a co-presenter, the Chief Juvenile Probation Officer from Bexar County, TX, Jill Mata.

Submitted conference cost request for conference approval
