New York Smart Supervision FY22 TA (November 2024)In December, CSG Justice Center staff continued meeting with NYDOCCS staff to discuss the progress of the project. NYDOCCS staff submitted the Request for Proposals (RFP) for approval and review to the Contractor Procurement Unit (CPU). On December 13, NYDOCCS received preliminary feedback from CPU and are actively working on the edits to the RFP. The NYDOCCS cost proposal is still pending review by the CPU.

In November, CSG Justice Center staff continued meeting with NYDOCCS staff to discuss the progress of the project. NYDOCCS staff drafted proposal questions and re-submitted the scope of work for review and approval to the Contractor Procurement Unit (CPU) on November 15. In addition, NYDOCCS staff obtained clearance with the Integrated Systems Division on November 15.
NYDOCCS staff met with the CPU to discuss the processing and releasing of the RFP to adhere to their release date of December 15, 2024.

In October, CSG Justice Center staff continued to meet with NYDOCCS staff to discuss the progress of the project. NYDOCCS has re-submitted the scope of work for review and approval to the Contractor Procurement Unit (CPU). NYDOCCS has met with the CPU to discuss the processing and releasing of the RFP to adhere to the timeline submitted to BJA.

Objective 2: Technology Development Technical Assistance In September, CSG Justice Center staff continued to meet monthly with NYDOCCS staff to discuss the progress of the project. On August 13, NYDOCCS re-submitted the scope of work for review and approval to the Contractor Procurement Unit (CPU). Due to being short-staffed, the CPU has not been able to provide a tentative date as to when they will be able to review due to backlog. NYDOCCS reported that they met with the CPU on September 17 to discuss the importance of getting the RFP approved and posted.

Objective 1: Individualized Technical Assistance to Grantees In July, CSG Justice Center staff continued to meet monthly with NYDOCCS staff to discuss project implementation and vendor selection. The Contractor Procurement Unit (CPU) provided a turnaround timeframe of four to six weeks for the scope of work submitted on June 25. NYDOCCS reports that they are continuing to work with the CPU to get the Request for Proposals (RFP) released earlier than the projected approval timeframe.

NY DOCCS has completed the scope of work and is waiting for the Contract Procurement Unit (CPU) to review and approve the RFP to be tentatively released on June 30. In order to adhere to the timeline provided and reduce additional steps, NY DOCCS has included in the RFP that applicants share information that would be presented at the Vendor Conferences in August.

Objective 2: Technology Development Technical Assistance In May, CSG Justice Center staff continued to meet with NY DOCCS staff to discuss the project. NY DOCCS began collaborating with the Contractor Procurement Unit (CPU) to create the scope of work for the RFP that will be tentatively released on June 30. NY DOCCS plans to streamline the approval process to release the RFP by working conjointly with the CPU.
