Throughout the period of July 2019 through December 2019, this project received and addressed, via email and phone communication, requests for information on anti-human trafficking training, technical assistance, and resources. The project staff tracked, addressed, and has kept record of all requests addressed through funding from award 2017-VT-BX-K101.

Delivery of training and technical assistance on the topic of labor trafficking identification, investigation, and prosecution to law enforcement attendees of the 2020 Western States Information Network (WSIN) Human Trafficking Conference, on February, 2020, in Sacramento, California. This is a 2 1/2 hour training delivery by IACP consultants.

This 2.5 day in-person training event is a delivery under Cooperative Agreement 2017-VT-BX-K101, in order to equip law enforcement and prosecutors with knowledge, understanding, and proven practices for anti-labor trafficking identification, investigations, and prosecutions. Labor Trafficking training is priority for the law enforcement field across the country, and this delivery addresses that demand from the field.

Anna Fletcher, Task Force Coordinator with the Utah Trafficking in Persons (UTIP) Task Force requested to have someone speak at their task force's conference to address labor trafficking as they have self-reported struggles with identifying, investigating, and prosecuting labor trafficking. They requested a speaker (through IACP) to give a training workshop on identifying & responding to labor trafficking.

Promoting human trafficking public awareness and education is critical to the long-term success of the Enhanced Collaborative Model (ECM) human trafficking task forces. Through the use of social media, ECM task forces can increase the number of case referrals by improving community response and raising public awareness of sex and labor trafficking for relevant stakeholders. IACP will develop and conduct a strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) analysis to identify TTA needs for each task force. The SWOT analysis will be conducted using electronic surveying and phone interviews. Based on the outcome of the assessments, in consultation with BJA, IACP will develop/enhance/refine training for delivery to the ECM task forces.
