Objective 2: Technology Development Technical Assistance In April, the deputy director of commissions informed NY DOCCS they should follow the normal RFP process with vendors, as opposed to utilizing other vendor contracts for the project. NY DOCCS is discussing the RFP draft with the implementation and legal teams to post it within the next 45 days.

On June 22-24, 2021, the Body-worn Camera (BWC) Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) team, in partnership with the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), held the 2020 BWC TTA Virtual National Meeting. This meeting was primarily intended for FY 2020 BWC Policy and Implementation Program (PIP) grant agencies, but was also open to previous years' grantees. Members of the BWC TTA Team, subject matter experts (SMEs), and representatives from BJA and JSS also participated in the meeting. Due to COVID-19, this meeting was held in a virtual format again.

CSG Justice Center staff conducted a site visit with the Massachusetts Probation Service (MPS) in Boston, MA. During the in-person meeting, CSG Justice Center staff provided an extensive overview of the National Guidelines project, provided an in-depth analysis of the agency’s self-assessment tool results, and began discussing the goals, objectives, and challenges of their TA plan. In concluding the site visit, CSG Justice Center staff provided the stakeholders with action items and determined the next steps to focus on during the continuation of the TA process.

In July, CSG Justice Center staff continued to socialize the guidelines and engage key partners in the field, further develop outreach strategies, and update language to be used for rolling applications for technical assistance (TA). CSG Justice Center staff also submitted the draft of the presentation to be used at the APPA annual conference in August 2023 and identified project next steps.
CSG Justice Center staff reviewed self-assessment tool submissions and produced results pages for each past respondent, which the team will use for further outreach.
