NW3C will send Justin Fitzsimmons to present a three-hour presentation called, "Search and Seizure" at the Army Trial Counsel Assistance Program (TCAP). The faculty member will provide an overview of various computer programs used by defendants in the commission or furtherance of their criminal activity.
NW3C will send staff Justin Fitzsimmons to present at the National District Attorneys Association (NDAA) on the topic, "Understanding and Utilizing Forensic Evidence: Evidence Based Prosecutions". The faculty member will provide an overview of the statutory and constitutional considerations regarding investigation, identification of evidence, and evidence collection of a variety of 21st century evidence. The faculty member will discuss what is available from local devices, and cyberspace; 2) understanding the impact of the Carpenter v.
NW3C received request for a one-hour technical assist for the Idaho State Police command staff to present information on emerging technologies and challenges. Presentation information included:
1. UWB geolocation and AirTags
2. Appe Private Relay
3. 5G LI, PRTT, and geolocation considerations
NW3C will send staff Jim Emerson to present on the topic of "Cybersecurity for State and Local Law Enforcement" during the NLETS meeting. NLETS is the International Public Safety and Justice Network, whose mission is to serve law enforcement communities every day. The are the premier provider of secure information services that enable a totally standardized and integrated system, which allows for the secure exchange of law enforcement, criminal justice, and public safety-related information nationwide.

NW3C will send Glen Gainer, Jeff Lybarger, Jim Emerson, and Tyler Wotring to the Association of State Criminal Investigative Agencies (ASCIA) Fall 2022 Conference to collect information and best practices that can be incorporated into the NW3C/BJA educational resources. Jim Emerson will conduct a presentation called, "Digital Evidence Issues".
