PERF provided onsite technical assistance to the Kansas City Police Department to support them in implementing the following DOJ Roadmap essential actions: creating a citywide plan for engaging key people and places, and committing to continuous improvement based on data, evidence, and peer-to-peer learning.
Grantees will receive training and practical information and provide best practices on responses to substance use disorders and overdose prevention that prioritize prevention, treatment, recovery, and harm reduction.
LISC lead a breakout session on reducing school violence through partnership during 2023's STOP annual conference. Addressing community violence inside and outside of schools requires a unified approach, which leverages the experience and expertise of community partners as well as school staff and administrators. During this breakout session, participants will be exposed to two organizations partnering with schools to implement the safe passages model and the Richmond, VA, League for Safer Streets Initiative.
The event serves as an opportunity for COSSUP grantees to further the goals of the Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Use Program to support effective local, state, and tribal responses to illicit substance use in order to reduce overdose deaths, promote public safety, and support access to treatment and recovery services in the criminal justice system.
This TTA will investigate 1) three type of general IOT Hardware Development Kits, HDKs (low profile, medium profile, and high profile based on their capabilities) devices, 2) the forensics analysis for IoT devices and applications for personal or commercial use, and 3) the artifacts of IoT applications on computers, cell phones, and other mobile devices, such as Windows 10 laptop, an iPhone, and an android phone.
In this fourth and final virtual convening for the YR Track of SCA grantees, CCETAC coaches brought together track grantees, including Tribal grantees, and experts for an interactive virtual convening to discuss, share experiences and lessons learned, and build community. Participants heard from presenters on the Critical Importance of Integrating Culturally Specific Approaches for Justice-Involved Youth.
In this third virtual convening for the YR Track of SCA grantees, CCETAC coaches brought together track grantees and experts for an interactive virtual convening to share best practices, discuss topics of interest, share experiences and lessons learned, and build community. Participants heard from presenters on Solutions and Support for Reducing Revocation and Keeping Young People in their Communities.
During this reporting period the Nevada Division of Child and Family services discussed the timeline for closing the grant on September 30, 2023. The team also discussed the possibility of obtaining an NCE. The coaches expressed concern about submitting a third NCE request due to the continued lack of progress on overall grant activities. The coaches also reviewed information provided by the agency for a borough-based confinement facility attached to a medical center and provided the agency with guidance.
During this reporting period both OYA and DOC wrapped up final project tasks. They will begin closeout activities in the next reporting period. Both sites continue to be thoughtful in their PREA implementation efforts and they have completed tasks successfully. The grant successfully closed out on 9/30/23.
