NCCJD conducted the sixth and final Pathways to Justice training of the project period in Ventura County, CA in partnership with The Arc of Ventura County. There were a total of 75 participants. Pre/post testing was conducted and evaluation summary is reported in deliverable inventory.

NCCJD conducted the fifth Pathways to Justice training of 2017 in Austin, TX in partnership with The Arc of Texas (state chapter). There were a total of 95 participants. Pre/post testing was conducted and evaluation summary is reported in deliverable inventory.

Emily LaGratta presented on procedural justice for the second time for the newly established New York City Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings (OATH court).

John Butler presented on procedural justice at the annual conference for the American Probation and Parole Association. He co-presented with Frank Scherer, Director of Adult Probation in Allegheny County, PA, who discussed current research on procedural justice, highlighted promising practices from community corrections officers in
the field, and explored the challenges of implementation..

Emily LaGratta presented on procedural justice at the New York State Courts court officer training.

Center staff also helped to organize and provide in-house and external faculty for the procedural justice session at the Judicial Responsibility for Justice Conference at Hofstra University Law School (April 6-7, 2017). Faculty included:

Michela Lowry presented on procedural justice and the Center's project in collaboration with the Connecticut Office of the Public Defender at the annual conference for the National Legal Aid and Defender Association’s Community Oriented Defender conference . She co-presented with Jennie Albert, Manager of Information Services with the Connecticut Office of the Public Defender.

Emily LaGratta presented on procedural justice at the annual conference for the National Association of Counties Legislative Conference. She co-presented with Sally Heyman, the Miami-Dade County Commissioner, and Ariane Schmidt, the Regional Project Manager for the City of Spokane (WA).

Center staff will assist court managers at the Newark Municipal Court to assess the strengths and challenges of enhancing court users' perceptions of fairness. This will include a site assessment of court observations and a report that documents observed practices and outlines recommendations for improvement.
