The Bureau of Justice Programs (BJA) State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial (SLTT) Information Sharing Technical Assistance Program is a collaborative effort with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A) and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), in partnership with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and experts from the state and local community—including the Global Justice Information Sharing Initiative (Global) and the Criminal Intelligence Coordinating Council (CICC).

• Intelligence Summit CICC Task Team Effort:
o On July 29, 2024, IIR staff provided a status briefing to the DHS Undersecretary for Intelligence and Analysis, Ken Wainstein.
o A project briefing was provided to the CICC membership during the State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial Intelligence Briefing hosted by BJA at the IACP conference in Boston in October 2024.

NSI Indicator Review Final Report: Graphics support was provided during this period to develop a graphic cover for the final combined report, titled Assessment and Review of the Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR) Initiative (NSI) Indicators.

SASS Rebrand: In mid-December 2024, DHS requested graphics assistance with their effort to rebrand the Special Analytic Seminar Series deliverables (flyer, agenda, PowerPoint, badge template, web components, and certificate templates) in preparation for the mid-March 2025 SASS.

The Rochester Police Department conducted a peer exchange with the Omaha Police Department to learn about the impressive Omaha 360 program and its impact on reducing violent crime. After introductions, the Rochester team expressed their eagerness to understand Omaha 360’s collaborative approach to community engagement and crime reduction. The Omaha team provided an overview of the program, highlighting its impressive network of over 500 organizations and 5,000 resident participants.

On 1/8/25, the National Policing Institute hosted a convening of national law enforcement stakeholder organizations to discuss guidance for the certification of de-escalation training programs. In total, twelve participants from nine national law enforcement organizations attended the convening and provided their perspectives on critical content for de-escalation training, standards for training dose and delivery, and the scalability of standards. Insights shared by convening participants will directly inform the development of national standards for de-escalation training.
