The University of California at Davis in California is responding increasingly to students experiencing mental health crises and is exploring ways to better support them. The site requested information about other campus police departments and their work in co-responder models. The Serving Safely Initiative sent them contact information for a CSG Learning Site at the University of Florida, connected them to resources that focus on peer-to-peer intervention and provided information on the local NAMI affiliate and Arc chapter.

The CIT Training Coordinator for the Fairfax County, Virginia Police Department works closely with coordinators in Arlington and Loudon Counties to develop and host Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training for law enforcement officers in their counties. The area has recently seen a lot of turnover in CIT trainers and requested crisis scenario training provided by the Crisis Intervention Team International (CITI) organization, which is a program partner. This training is provided in the "train the trainer" format.

The Research and Development Specialist in Rapid City Police department in South Dakota is interested in ways to improve his agency's response to citizens experiencing a mental health crisis. The agency requested assistance in strengthening their "Quality of Life" unit, which has responsibility for helping people with mental illnesses involved in the Criminal Justice System. The Serving Safely team is connecting them with a local NAMI affiliate and is providing relevant resources and expert consult during the virtual technical assistance contacts.

A Lieutenant of the Mission TX Police Department is interested in ways to improve his agency's response to citizens who are experiencing a mental health crisis. The state of Texas recently enacted legislation that requires all law enforcement officers in the state to receive Crisis Intervention Team training before they can be certified or recertified. The Lieutenant is looking for information on Crisis Intervention Team training resources.

Denver Police Department to organize a training specifically for law enforcement on how to do long term investigations when there are limited resources. Focusing primarily on trauma informed/victim centered practices and strategies for enhancing human trafficking investigations. They are looking for a trainer who is currently or previously law enforcement who can really give the detective/investigator perspective to see what they have done in their agency to overcome those issues in their jurisdiction. Reached out to IACP for ideas for trainers.

Courts, service providers, and child welfare agencies from three tribes (Yurok Nation, Hoopa Tribe, and Karuk Tribe) and two counties (Humboldt County and Del Norte County) are working together to develop joint jurisdiction healing to wellness courts to better serve their communities and to address opioid use which has impacted the region particularly hard. Judge Korey Wahwusuck came onsite as a subject matter expert and mentor. She gave a keynote speech, and also provided valuable insight and input throughout the meetings.

The Leon County, Florida Sheriff's Office requested a crime analysis assessment. OnPoint Analytics was selected to fulfill the request and conducted an assessment between December 2018 and March 2019. OnPoint Analytics delivered a final recommendations report to the Leon County Sheriff's Office in March 2019.
