Prior research has found that substance use education programs for youth typically fail because of a lack of student interest since activities did not relate to their actual lives. In order for drug use programs to be effective, they need to be based on the real experiences of youth, which is a principle of harm reduction.

Learning Objectives Identify and understand the most significant barriers to accessing substance use disorder (SUD) treatment. Explore effective strategies and best practices for overcoming barriers to SUD treatment. Evaluate the role of telehealth and digital health solutions in enhancing access to SUD treatment.

While the Smart on FHIR project has been finalized with stakeholder’s feedback and voting, the actual standard for the PDMP FHIR APP has not yet been published at the close of this reporting period. Point of Care Partners, Health Management for HL7, anticipated the Standards document to be published sometime in October 2024.
