The auditor feedback form is comprised of complaints submitted to the National PREA Resource Center (PRC) from various sources of information pertaining to PREA audits, i.e., victim advocates, corrections staff, PREA Coordinators etc. These complaints are reviewed regularly by the PRC, and BJA. Certain complaints are referred to PREA Management Office (PMO) for a more in depth review depending upon the nature of the complaint. Following policy development conversations, CJI supported the Work Group in drafting a comprehensive, final report capturing the work of the Reentry Work Group. The report includes key data findings, research points, and the Work Group’s 26 recommendations for improving reentry outcomes in North Dakota.

CJI staff guided the Work Group through the policy development process as part of Phase I of JRI. The Work Group was divided into two focus areas for their policy discussions – the first group focusing on the “front-end” of the criminal justice system (practices including deflection, arrest, diversion, court processing, and sentencing), and the second focusing on the “back-end” of the criminal justice system (in-prison practices, release planning, community reentry support, housing, and healthcare).

PRC Staff person served as a panelist in the workshop Partnering for Success: Innovative Models for Serving Incarcerated Survivors, which highlighted promising collaborative relationships between rape crisis centers and correctional facilities. Later, staff facilitated an advocate meet up with partners, Just Detention International.

PREA stakeholders planning to attend the American Correctional Association (ACA) summer conference in Nashville, TN were invited to join the PREA Management Office (PMO) and the National PREA Resource Center (PRC) for a convening held on Saturday morning, August 17, to discuss hot topics and issues in PREA. This meeting was held on site at the Music City Center during the ACA conference.

There were 7 in-person and virtual site visits between September and December 2024. This included a virtual site visit on October 25, 2024, with the FY20 JMHCP Rogers County, OK, team, whose grant project is providing services in the county jail and a virtual site visit with FY18 JMHCP Suquamish Indian Tribe of the Port Madison Reservation, WA, on September 11, 2024.
