THIS TRAINING HAD TO BE POSTPONED FROM FEBRUARY 2025 TO AUGUST 2025 DUE TO FLOODING AND WINTER STORMS IN KENTUCKY.
NACDL will send attorney and mitigation specialist subject matter experts to Kentucky to train multiple offices (including newly hired staff) on best practices in mitigation. The training will focus on trainees existing cases and utilize the Bring-Your-Own-Case (BYOC) model to the extent feasible.
In February 2024, in response to an inquiry by the Fulton County DAO, TTA Program staff provided the site a compilation of victim advocate training resources which were identified from an environmental scan of government and non-profit organizations.
Working with Sandstorm marketing firm, we will develop messages designed to resonate with difficult to reach/difficult to engage groups to help promote more diverse and inclusive juries
Juyl-Dec. 2024:Following an open RFP process we contracted with Sandstorm to create a message and conduct related market testing. That messaging and testing is complete, and we are currently working with them to develop the final images and materials that will be a part of a messaging toolkit.
The Hate Crimes TTA team held a kickoff call with the Illinois Office of the Attorney General (OAG). The purpose of the call was to build rapport with site representatives, learn about Illinois OAG’s Matthew Shepard & James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act project activities, identify any challenges and emerging issues, and begin to scope out the site’s TTA needs.

NJC will select an Advisory Committee of 12 – 15 national experts to guide the project.
This training was conducted by contractor Arizona Crime Victim Rights Law Group on behalf of the CCLI project in Navajo County, Arizona on June 4, 2024. Attendees for this training were capital case prosecutors, paralegals, victim advocates, and investigators within the Navajo County Prosecutor's Office.

The course will cover the legal principles on search and seizure, including constitutional requirements and procedural safeguards.
