NHDOC has been fully engaged with the JDI coaches this reporting period. The coaches were able to assist NHDOC in drafting their implementation guide and time task plan.
The coaches maintained a schedule of monthly virtual meetings with NHDOC. No meeting was held in June, because of audits in progress at NHDOC. However, NHDOC remained fully communicative and responsive to the coaches during June.

For corrections and community supervision agencies, the shift toward adopting reentry and recidivism reduction as core responsibilities also requires changes in organizational culture and approaches to staff recruitment, retention, and development.
In this video, Dr. Nicole Jarrett of The Council of State Governments Justice Center talks to Anne Precythe, director of the Missouri Department of Corrections, for her reflections on what culture change means for corrections.

The collateral consequences of conviction--statutory and regulatory restrictions that limit or prohibit people convicted of crimes from accessing employment, housing, and other rights, benefits, and opportunities--can have debilitating effects on the livelihood and social integration of people with criminal histories, increasing the likelihood of recidivism and contributing to family and community instability.

On November 3, 2020 PRC received a request from Katherine Stovall, Hotline Services Program Coordinator for RAINN requesting our thoughts on a couple of documents drafted by RAINN staff to enhance staff training regarding PREA. The two draft documents -PREA overview and PREA Myths were sent to PRC staff for review and on November 13, 2020 PRC staff met with RAINN staff to discuss our first impressions of the original draft documents submitted to us for review and also to gain more insight on the purpose for use of these documents.
