The SLATT monthly partner meeting was held on September 5, 2024. SLATT partner meetings are convened to discuss current initiatives and progress toward completing SLATT tasks.

During the month of September 2024, 91 new SLATT user accounts were created. Of the new accounts, 31 were approved as SLATT direct accounts, 44 were created via RISS program credentials, and 16 were created via FBI, Law Enforcement Enterprise Portal, program credentials.

The SLATT team addressed approximately 54 inquiries received from users submitting questions or requests using the “Contact Us” button on the slatt.org website. Inquiries related to SLATT training, resources, webinars, publications, login issues, website access, and general questions.

On August 15, 2024, members of the State and Local Anti-Terrorism Training (SLATT) Program team and two subject-matter experts (SMEs) delivered a virtual training titled, “Homegrown Violent Extremist–Threat to Law Enforcement, The Jesse Hartnett Ambush Story.” The 180-minute presentation consisted of a lesson from the “Detect & Interdict: Specialized Roles in Uncovering and Preventing Terrorism” (DISRUPT) training course curriculum and was hosted by the Middle Atlantic-Great Lakes Organized Crime Law Enforcement Network (MAGLOCLEN), Regional Information Sharing Systems (RISS) Center.

On July 23, 2024, members of the SLATT Program team and the Bureau of Justice Assistance senior policy advisor participated in the United States Attorney’s Office, Law Enforcement Coordinating Committee (LECC), monthly training and TA webinar, which was hosted by the Executive Office for United States Attorneys. The LECC provides a networking focus for law enforcement executives committed to the ideal of cooperation and coordination at all levels of local, state, and federal law enforcement.

The online eLearning course titled, “First Amendment Protection and Best Practices for Constitutionally Protected Events,” was promoted and provided to key law enforcement and criminal justice stakeholders who will support the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Illinois. In June 2024, the eLearning course was provided to stakeholders supporting the Republican National Convention in Wisconsin. Promotion of the training included a slick sheet that provides an overview of the course and instructions on how to access the training within the IIR learning management system (LMS).

On July 18, 2024, the BJA senior policy advisor and the SLATT Program team hosted a virtual advisory board meeting in which five of the six board members participated. The meeting began with program updates related to curriculum, development, training deliveries, and webinars. All participants engaged in a roundtable discussion in which advisory board members offered positive feedback on SLATT courses and lessons, with emphasis on the recently developed “First Amendment Protection and Best Practices for Constitutionally Protected Events” online eLearning course.
