In December 2024, the project team in partnership with IACLEA conducted a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) focus group at the University of Central Florida to further learn recruitment and retention insights from diverse communities. The focus group consisted of 5 female students from various majors, such as Criminal Justice, Political Science and Criminal and Law Deviance.

As part of the Community Trust Initiative (CTI) project, the IACP organized a media training program focusing on the unique challenges faced by first-line supervisors and command staff. Laura McElroy, a highly respected authority in media relations, guided participants through advanced techniques and strategies for managing media interactions and public statements. Participants learned about how to confidently and effectively engage with media representatives, handling inquiries with poise and clarity.

The city of Portland has recently created a Tribal Liaison position, and PPB has requested any materials pertaining to police interactions with Tribal communities.

The Boston (MA) Police Department requested assistance finding examples of a social media policy for use in criminal investigations and prosecutions. The IACP CTI team shared with Boston PD a resource from the Brennan Center for Justice, specifically the model policy from the New York (NY) Police Department.

The Boston (MA) Police Department and the Mayor's Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement's (MONSE) Coordinated Neighborhood Stabilization Response (CNSR) program in Baltimore (MD) had a virtual peer exchange. Boston PD was looking for resources programs to learn from on trauma-informed follow-up and neighborhood stabilization following a multi-agency operation that led to dozens of arrests in one apartment complex.
