LISC held a virtual SME onboarding orientation on 11/20/23 describing programmatic deliverables and responsibilities for SME's supporting the activities of the National CVIPI Resource and Field Support Center. SME's were CNA, Urban Peace Institute, Dr. Kathryn Bocanegra, Dr. Shani Buggs, Roca, Inc., PJ Fox, Alliance of Concerned Men and Anne Marks.

MasterCard Worldwide, through its Impact Evaluator team, will develop recommendations for a data assessment framework and will share findings with LISC and other project partners, including nonprofit organizations under LISC’s Community Violence Intervention and Prevention Initiative Capacity Building program. The assessment framework will be an examination of relevant programmatic and open-sourced data and will measure the impact of CVIPI initiatives currently being implemented by project partners.

Colmena Collective will work with and support LISC Safety & Justice Training and Technical Assistance efforts by providing direct administrative and organizational capacity building guidance to grantees of the Community Violence Intervention and Prevention (CVIPI) Capacity Building project. Work will include engaging grantees in bi-weekly support calls, assist in developing internal policies and procedures, developing templated documents such as timesheets, and gathering financial documents such as 990s and other tax documents.

At the request of BJA, LISC staff attended the 2023 Violent Crime Summit in Indianapolis (December 2023). Additionally, LISC staff arranged travel support for representatives from the following RVCRI grantee sites:

• Vernon County, WI

Julianne B. Dunn (Program Officer, Rural LISC) presented in the session. The session introduced the Rural LISC program to RVCRI partners. Through this presentation, participants learned about the Rural LISC approach to community and economic development, as well as heard about recent, relevant projects from the field.

LISC participated in the second "Rural Roundtable" peer learning event, this time hosted by NPI. The focused topic included drug trafficking enforcement strategies.

LISC hosted the first "Rural Roundtable" peer learning event for the RVCRI cohort. This inaugural event covered BJA grant management practices (many RVCRI grantees are first time federal awardees) along with an opportunity to hear from a select number of peers on their work. LISC and NPI will alternate co-hosting duties for this event moving forward.

LISC co-hosted a grant solicitation webinar (second round of pass-through funding) with NPI and BJA on February 23rd, 2023. This opportunity helped explain the RVCRI grant opportunity, allowable uses of funds, eligible organizations that could apply and the overall application process.
