One team member reached out to discuss further questions regarding data tracking in criminal justice and diversion work, particularly around the concept of desistance. We explored how to track or incorporate desistance, given its limited use in current practices. The team member also expressed interest in conducting a cost-benefit analysis, and I shared examples from Washington state. We plan to touch base with other colleagues at Altarum to gather additional insights or resources. I will follow up via email with relevant materials and further support.

The Building Bridges initiative helps jails expand access to opioid use disorder (OUD) treatment both during incarceration and upon reentry into the community. Selected sites receive intensive training and technical assistance to support the implementation of medication-assisted treatment (MAT). Each team or individual is assigned a site liaison for monthly check-ins, resource sharing, support, and next-step planning.
