We checked in with RI and offered to meet with them. We also shared examples of 4 program plans from other states as well as shared the SCIP subaward summary, clarified the guidelines related to the "under $10K" locations, and shared the RI statewide stakeholder criminal justice survey analysis that NCJA conducted earlier in the year. We also presented to the RI SCIP Advisory Board and answered questions about types of programming that would likely be allowable under SCIP.

The Oregon SAA's office reached out regarding language access TA. In collaboration with language access expert Dr. Omara Rivera-Vasquez, the Center for Justice Planning is developing a technical assistance initiative tailored to the specific needs of states and territories to address language access.

The Nebraska Crime Commission, in collaboration with NCJA, conducted a statewide justice system needs assessment survey to evaluate the needs of their stakeholders, including new and prospective Byrne JAG recipients. Nebraska's unique geographic landscape enabled the survey to reach rural and tribal communities, aligning with their goal to strengthen engagement with these populations. The survey will serve as a critical component in shaping the state’s JAG strategic planning process.

A two-day virtual New Coordinator Training was provided by Wellness Court Specialist Kristina Pacheco on July 15 and 19, 2024 for the Chickasaw Nation (FY23 ATC Grantee).

TTA continued for Chickasaw Nation (FY23 ATC Grantee). A two-day virtual Coordinator Training on July 15 and 19, 2024 was provided by Wellness Court Specialist Kristina Pacheco. An onsite training for the entire THWC team was planned for January 2025 and will include Wellness Court Specialist Kristina Pacheco and Wellness Court Legal Specialist Jacob Metoxen.

Gila River received a new FY24 Adult Treatment Court award. The new grantee welcome letter was sent November 7, 2025. Adult Treatment Coordinator Rachel Hernandez replied on November 25th looking for a January 2025 date to meet with TLPI. Emails between November 25 and December 23rd continued to coordinate a date. The coordinator shared that she was appointed as a Gila River Children's Court Judge as of January 15, 2025 and the meeting on the new award would have to wait.

The SAA out of American Samoa requested assistance in the development of a stakeholder needs assessment survey for their upcoming JAG strategic plan. Specifically, they requested help in developing the questions, formatting the survey and analyzing it on the backend. In conjunction with the SAA, NCJA staff designed a stakeholder survey and the AS SAA distributed the survey on November 20, 2024. The survey will close on February 28th.
