NCJP Deputy Director Simone Greene and NCJP Program Manager Anica Stieve were in attendance at NACo's Annual Conference. NCJP Deputy Director Simone Greene moderated this panel discussion at the Annual NACo Conference. This session explored examples of collaborative initiatives within county justice systems. By exploring innovative methods through partnerships, community engagement and diverse approaches to funding, the panel provided insights and strategies to drive meaningful improvements while fostering access, resilience and lasting impact.

A recurring optional time for Cohort members to connect, share insights, and support each other. Each month there may be a specific area of focus, an introduction to leaders in the space, and/or a space to drop in and say hello, enhancing the cohort-style enviornment.

There were two peer connections and two consultations between July and December 2024. The first consultation was with a subject matter expert from 21st Century Policing who helped provide expertise on information included in a webinar on best practices in scene safety and a subject matter expert from the International Association of Chiefs of Police who helped develop session one of a community of practice.

The IACP TTA Lead compiled a list of social media links of other grantee sites and shared the list with the Detroit team, as well as other CVI-oriented sites.

Between January and June 2024 we facilitated 8 peer connections and 2 consultations: On January 1, 2024 the FY21 JMHCP County of Onondaga, NY, grant team was connected to the Denver, CO, Police Department's Law Enforcement-Mental Health Learning Site, which discussed its Denver STAR program as the grantee was interested in including a non-law enforcement response in their program. Specifically, Denver STAR provided guidance on identifying appropriate calls for service to divert to a civilian response and how they worked through issues within the 911 center.
