PRC staff conducts documentation reviews of individual auditor's PREA audits when directed to do so by the PREA Management Office. PRC staff assesses auditors' interim and final reports and reviews the information and documentation auditors relied on to reach compliance determinations. By utilizing documentation uploaded to the OAS, PRC staff considers both the documentation provided to an auditor by the facility and agency, as well as any additional documentation gathered onsite.

The Council of State Governments Justice Center hosted the Second Chance Act (SCA) Kickoff event. The event featured discussions on the state of reentry, the role of the National Reentry Resource Center (NRRC), and the progress in reentry since the SCA's inception, addressing current challenges and future goals. Key topics included the coordination of SCA technical assistance, enhancements to the NRRC website, updates on the NICCC and Clean Slate Clearinghouse websites, and upcoming work under the Reentry 2030 project.

CSG Justice Center staff met with BJA to discuss the strategic plan, work plan, and intensive TA to sties. BJA discussed adding an in-person event for the State Reentry Coordinators College and methodology for selecting sites for TA.

1. Reviewing how much of BJA’s support for Reentry 2030 has been spent to date, and what is remaining.
2. Providing estimates for what each part of the strategic plan would likely cost the campaign’s timeline
3. Making clear commitments for the next 3 months, and how that will advance the strategic plan

Through this activity, JSS supports the micro-grantees to develop a comprehensive body worn camera program with the use of federal funds. JSS ensures that all requirements and regulations are adhered to and that the program is comprehensive in nature.

PRC staff observed a certified PREA auditor conduct a compliance audit of the Ocean Tides School which is a non-secure residential facility for court adjudicated youth located in Narrangansett, Rhode Island. The purpose of the audit observation project was to learn how certified auditors are implementing the PREA Auditor Handbook required audit methodology in practice.

PRC staff observed a certified PREA auditor conduct a compliance audit of the Nebraska Department of Correctional services reception and treatment center which is a facility located in Lincoln, Nebraska. The purpose of the audit observation project was to learn how certified auditors are implementing the PREA Auditor Handbook required audit methodology in practice and provide LEP individuals with PREA education information and training on how to report.

PRC staff observed a certified PREA auditor conduct a compliance audit of the Rhode Island Training School which is a secure residential facility for pre-adjudication and court ordered post-adjudication youth located in Cranston, Rhode Island. The purpose of the audit observation project was to learn how certified auditors are implementing the PREA Auditor Handbook required audit methodology in practice and to analyze the effectiveness of the audit methodology and audit instrument.
