On February 27, 2024, at the APPA 2024 Winter Training Institute, IIR partnered with the American Parole Probation Association (APPA) to facilitate an in-person forum for juvenile probation officers, community supervision professionals, and other professionals. This forum provided an opportunity for an open exchange of information designed to gather insights about their work with school-age populations and discuss emerging trends related to school safety.

BJA requested to submit a panel to the IACP conference in October on the work of Place Network Investigations that SPI sites are conducting. Place Network Investigations is a promising strategy to reduce persistent violent crime problems while empowering resilient communities. This approach is rooted in science and Problem Oriented Policing and emphasizes a collaborative approach to identifying and responding to social networks operating in high-crime places.
