The webinar will provide an overview of a program in Florida utilizing the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) system to respond to patients with substance use disorder. In addition to responding to emergency calls for the sick and injured, many EMS agencies across the country have added community paramedics to their ranks whose role is to treat people with chronic disease and lessen their need for emergency ambulance response.

Prior research has found that substance use education programs for youth typically fail because of a lack of student interest since activities did not relate to their actual lives. In order for drug use programs to be effective, they need to be based on the real experiences of youth, which is a principle of harm reduction.

Operated the auditor certification process for auditors who completed their Field Training Programs during the reporting period and who signed their auditor certification agreements. This includes communicating with them about deadlines, the responsibilities of a probationary auditor, and the requirements that must be met to become fully certified. Upon completion of the necessary steps, we also updated our public auditor directory to display the newly certified auditors names and basic information about them.

The PRC will operate an assistance request form on its website and will respond to assistance requests by engaging with jurisdictions, assessing what services are appropriate, and meeting the needs of the requesting organization as resources allow. All data regarding the interaction is tracked in the PRC's information database. Full assistance cases are reported as individual TTAs.
The PRC processed/closed 30 Request for Assistance cases between July - December 2025.

In preparation for Restorative Justice Month in November, the National Center on Restorative Justice (NCORJ) convened a special meeting titled "Communicating Our Successes and Amplifying Each Other." This dialogue was an opportunity for Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) restorative justice grantees to come together and discuss effective ways to communicate the impactful work happening in our communities and how we can amplify each other. The conversation was be facilitated by DeMointé Wesley, who leads communication efforts for the NCORJ.
