NLERSP Train-the-Trainer (Virtual) - Richmond Heights PD

Provide roadway safety training to your agency. Attend this 8-hour course where trainers will be given the resources and skills needed to teach the NLERSP training curriculum to other officers during academy or in-service training. NLERSP IACP OSW 2023 - Mitigating Struck-By Incidents: What More Can We Do to Protect Officers?

Officers are being struck at an alarming rate on the roadways. In the last 5 years alone, 85 officers were struck and killed, including 27 officers in 2021—a93% increase from struck-by fatalities in 2020. More must be done to protect our officers. This workshop will provide case studies of struck-by incidents, including a discussion of contributing factors and prevention strategies. Attendees will hear from Lt. Brady Robinette (Lubbock Fire Rescue) and Sgt.
